The Environmental Education Centre 'La Direzione' is managed by the the Cooperativa Abies Alba. It used to be the old offices of the mines of Siele inside the Pigelleto Nature Reserve.
The Centre is in a three floor building with labs, classrooms, guestrooms, a kithchen and a dining room. The Environmental Education Centre organizes:
· guided tours for students,
· guided tours to the Pigelleto Nature Reserve, the Monte Penna Nature Reserve, the Amiata Fauna Park and the Centre for the safeguard of wild animals of the Maremma Sempronio
· environmental education classes
· courses for teachers and trainers
· multimedia products prepared in collaboration with students
· exhibitions and events related to environmental issues
